J. Herbin, miközben a Francia Kelet-indiai Társaság alkalmazásában állt, számos alkalommal utazott Indiába Utazásai alkalmával hozzávalókat és recepteket gyűjtött, melyekből később létrehozta saját pecsétviaszát és tintáit. Ez a jubileumi sorozat a J. Herbin tinta 340. évfordulójára készült, és a 17. század közepén élő gazdag francia vállalkozó és tengerész kalandjait idézi meg.
Ilyen például az „Emeraude de Chivor”, a smaragdszínű tintakreáció, mely az Andok-hegységben található Chivor bányáról, az egyik legfontosabb smaragdlelőhelyről kapta a nevét. Állítólag Herbin mindig tartott a zsebében egy kis szerencsehozó smaragdkövet utazásai során. The “1670” Ink Collection
While Herbin was in the employ of the Compagnie des Indes Orientales, he made a number of voyages to India, collecting ingredients and formulas for his sealing waxes and inks. This collection was made for the 340th anniversary of the founding of J. Herbin inks and it evokes the rich life and adventures of the enterprising French sailor of the mid-17th century.
For example the "Emeraude de Chivor" was named after the Chivor mine in the Andes where was mined one of the purest emerald deposits in the world. Herbin is said to have kept an emerald in his pocket during his voyages as a good luck charm. The dark red color and earthy tone of "Rouge Hematite" is a reminder of the historic color of the J. Herbin logo and the motifs on its box represent the life of the founder. All these inks are made with flecks of gold as the feature of the 5 pieces collection.
They are best suited for calligraphy and paint but they are also perfect for fountain pens.
