A ceruzahegyezők megrövidítik a ceruzákat, mindig egy lépéssel közelebb hozva az elkerülhetetlen utolsó napjukat. De ez a ceruzahegyező, a hagyományos hegyezőkkel ellentétben, valójában egy soha véget nem érő ceruzát hoz létre.
A ceruzával az egyetlen és állandó probléma, hogy soha nem használhatjuk a végéig. Mindig marad egy csonk, ami már túl kicsi ahhoz, hogy használjuk, és ki kell dobni.
A “mottainai” japán buddhista filozófiában a pazarlás iránti szégyenérzet. Ez a hegyező erre a problémára is megoldást talált.
A TSUNAGO ceruzahegyezőn három különböző lyuk van: az egyik egy "vékonyító", a másik kettő pedig egy lyukat és egy kiemelkedést hoz létre, amely tökéletes csatlakozást hoz létre. Igy egy kis faragasztó segítségével össze lehet illeszteni a csonkokat és kész a vadonatúj ceruza.

The pencil sharpener has 3 different holes: one is a "regular" sharpener but the other two create a hole and a protrusion that creates a perfect interlocking joint. A little wood glue seals the bond completely and you have a brand new pencil
